In the same way that that cardboard cutout, the relationship of Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas is still in the dumps.
Months after two, the stars parted ways after less than a year of dating and probably gallons of Dunkin’s shared iced coffee between them, speculation that they had reconciled has been circulated on the internet.
It all started when the “Knives Out” actor posted a seemingly standard selfie on Instagram over the weekend showing off his post-Ben Bob. In the photo, she wore a half-heart pendant necklace, next to a heart emoji.
Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Affleck and De Armas often wore identical versions of the accessory to the deluge of photos of the former couple’s paparazzi during their quarantine whirlwind during the summer. When the two stopped smoking in January, many assumed the jewelry would be put on ice, a soon-forgotten symbol of a cold love.
So fans were immediately convinced that the resurgence of De Armas’ selfie necklace indicated that she and Affleck were trying again.
But, as it turns out, a necklace can be just a necklace.
After sharing the photo, De Armas tracked the post with another Instagram story with a series of stickers with the words “no”, “no” and “I don’t think so” on a black screen, in more than a two-finger peace sign with fingers, which seems to close the speculation.
While it certainly looks like De Armas is single at the moment, reports described her breakup with Affleck as relatively kind and seem to have been close.
“This is something that was mutual and that was completely friendly,” an unnamed source told People at the time, adding that two of them “still talk regularly.”
“They are at different times in their lives; there is a deep love and respect there, “said the source at the exit.” Ben still wants to work with himself. He has three jobs in a row and is a solid father at home. They are both happy with where they are. in his life “.
Neither party has publicly addressed the split. Quite unexpectedly, the brother of “Justice League” actor Casey Affleck has been the most outspoken.
After denying that he was the one who threw a cardboard cutout of De Armas in the trash, young Affleck frankly admitted that “this year has been very hard with people in a relationship.”
“I think it’s a catch in every way,” he told Entertainment Tonight about De Armas. “And I’ll be there to take him to Ben, but I don’t think he has any problems [either]. My advice to them would be like, ‘Yeah, think about it a lot, because quarantine isn’t fun if you’re single.’ “
