Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper enjoy a virtual hangout with John Mayer after leading CNN

Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper gave a social twist to their broadcast after the party this New Year’s Eve.

The dynamic duo returned to the saddle this year and hosted the live New Year’s Eve show for CNN from Times Square.

And once the work was done, they had a virtual party with almost no one but John Mayer, 43, Andy revealed on his Instagram page.

“So … after the show we went downtown looking for snacks and a Kiki with @johnmayer. (AC turned down another drop of tequila; I didn’t),” Andy wrote.

“We knew it was going to be a weird night, but I had a lot of fun hanging out virtually with all of you, and I always have the best time with Anderson,” he said.

Along with a picture of the virtual chat, Andy wrote, “Thank you very much this morning and I hope we can restore it to 2021. (And yes, I’m a little nothing.)”

Anderson and Andy were in Times Square as usual on CNN’s show, but unlike previous years, there was no crowd below the coronavirus closures.

Andy has long been a close friend of John, even traveling to Brazil to be with the singer for his 40th birthday, which occurred while he was touring there.

While he and Andy have joked about romantic rumors, John is straight and has dated stars like Jessica Simpson and Katy Perry with Jennifer Aniston.

So sweet: Andy is a longtime close friend of John, he even travels to Brazil to be with the singer for his 40th birthday, which happened while he was touring there.

Andy has a one-year-old son named Ben, whom he raises alone, while Anderson is the co-father of her young son Wyatt with her ex-boyfriend Benjamin Maisani.

Until three years ago, Anderson co-hosted New Year’s Eve shows with Kathy Griffin, which continued with a fervent showdown with Andy.

Kathy landed in a huge controversy in 2017 after starring in a photo shoot where she held a fake Donald Trump head cut in jest.

During the fury, Anderson called his joke “disgusting” and CNN fired her, after which Andy fell into his place and has been there ever since.
