Christmas is just one of the many annual events held in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, appropriately marked in the game as “Toy Day.”

In this guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about the Toy Day event and the character Jingle is returning.

Schedules of Christmas Day events and toys

Toy Day festivities will take place on December 24th – Christmas night – it will start at 5am and last 24 full hours. Music with special songs about Toy Day, another holiday track, will also be heard on your island.

How to find Jingle

At the time of the event, Jingle the reindeer can be found outside Resident Services, along with your bag of toys and items. There, he will be waiting for your help to make crafts festive wrapping paper and handing out Santa gifts to other villagers.

Everything you can do for Christmas and Toy Day

Below is a complete list of all activities you can participate on Toy Day; read the article for more specific details on each activity:

  1. Find Jingle in front of Resident Services enabled December 24th
  2. Unlock the file DIY festive wrapping paper Jingle recipe
  3. Crafts 3 of the Festive wrapping paper items and give them to Jingle
  4. Get Toy day socks to hang in your house
  5. Get the Jingle one Magic bag of gifts
  6. Visit each of your neighbors, both inside and outside your home, a make them their gifts of the Magic Bag
  7. Get a reward (Stack of gifts) from Jingle after delivering most of the gifts
  8. Get a second reward from Jingle (Santa’s sleigh) after handing out all the gifts
  9. Exchanges wrapped personal gifts then, with your neighbors, to receive more color variations of Nook’s Cranny Toy Christmas items
  10. Hang up on Toy Day socks at your home that evening of the 24th and check them out on the morning of the 25th at receives the photo of Jingle

How to make festive wrapping paper for Jingle

On toy day, Jingle will first ask for your help crafting some festive wrapping paper for Santa’s gifts. He will introduce you to the DIY recipe for the Festive Packaging Paper and ask him to make 3 pieces of it.

To make each piece of festive wrapping paper, you will need one of each of the different colors of the ornaments, which can be shaken from the decorated cedars.

After crafting the wrapping paper and presenting it to Jingle, he will give you a set Toy day socks – that maybe hanging on the wall of your house. Be sure to do it that evening, so you can check them out on the morning of the 25th and receive the Photo of Jingle!

In addition, Jingle will ask for your help in distributing Santa’s gifts to the island’s residents, and then give you a Magic bag, which contains gifts for each of your neighbors.

Christmas presents to the villagers of Santa Claus with magic bag

Unlike previous games, Toy Day in New Horizons, a gift will be automatically given to your neighbors from the Magic Bag when you talk to them – You don’t have to keep a list of tips or track down the items they’d like.

If the villager has one high level of friendship with you, sometimes they will give you a gift in return. There will often be a different color variation from the toys you can get at Nook’s Cranny (see “Festive toys for sale at Nook’s Cranny“list below).

Although it is not mandatory wear a Santa costume of the Able Sisters (as it was in previous games), by doing so, you will get a little brave reactions of your neighbors.

Plus, you can check how many gifts you have left to deliver by clicking on the Magic Bag in your inventory. Don’t forget it Talk to Jingle both of you when you’ve handed out most of your gifts, and after handing them all out, for some special rewards!

Make personal gifts to the villagers after handing out gifts

After handing in all the Santa gifts, you will be able to exchange personal gifts with villagers. Be sure to wrap each item with wrapping paper (some will be given to you if you don’t have one).

In return, they will provide you with different color variations of the toys that have been available at Nook’s Cranny throughout December (see “Festive toys for sale at Nook’s Cranny“list below).
