Hitman 3 falls to number 11
Animal Crossing: New Horizons returns to the top of the UK boxing charts after temporarily losing its place to Hitman 3 last week.
IO Interactive’s stealth game drops to No. 11, which may seem like a sharp drop, but sales are down 68% on weekdays and that’s a relatively normal drop for a basic game in the second week of sales.
Animal Crossing ranks No. 1 despite sales falling 12% on weekdays, while Mario Kart 8: Deluxe rises to No. 2, as it has also fallen 12% the previous week.
Not everything fell, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War rises two to 3rd place after a 2% increase in sales, while Grand Theft Auto 5 reaches number 4 after a 7% increase in sales sales.
Otherwise, it’s a pretty quiet week for retail games. There are two new entries on the chart, PGA Tour 2K21 at number 31 (52% sales) and Fortnite: The Last Laugh, which returns at number 36 after a 50% increase in sales.
Next week also looks pretty quiet, while the following week marks the release of the first significant game of the year: Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury on Nintendo Switch.
