For those unfamiliar with PowerA’s enhanced wireless controller, the company offers an alternative option to the Nintendo Switch Pro controller. PowerA’s design has a lower MSRP, with some compromises as a result. It should be noted that the driver does not offer Rumble features or amiibo support. As such, players who want to use the next amiibo Animal Crossing Sanrio Collaboration cards should do so while the console is in portable mode or with a Pro controller. However, it is likely that those who do not use amiibo will not lose their function.

The PowerA controller includes “mapable advanced game buttons.” These do not appear on the Nintendo Switch Pro driver, but are a standard option in PowerA driver versions. The additional buttons provide players with some customization options, which Animal Crossing players may like. Button mapping remains in the driver’s memory even after it has been disconnected from the system. You can find more information on the PowerA website right here.
