Another teacher dies from COVID-19

A third teacher in the country’s public education system is among the most recent fatalities of COVID-19, the Department of Education (DE) and the Teachers Association have confirmed to Metro.

This is the kindergarten teacher, Amarilis Carrasquillo Olique, who was part of the faculty of the Luis Muñoz Marín de Caguas school. According to the DE, the dead teacher failed to show up in the classroom because of her health condition. The Health report for Tuesday morning reports 28 deaths in a four-day period. So far this month, 273 deaths have been reported from COVID-19. Most deaths are among people who had not been vaccinated.
