The Buccaneers opener will not be present for the game against the Packers due to a knee injury
TAMPA – Els Tampa Bay Buccaneers they will not have the receiver open Antonio Brown for the Game for the NFC Championship on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, head coach Bruce Arians announced this Friday.
“I just talked to him this morning and putting him on the plane, flying and making him more inflamed makes no sense,” Arians said. “It was not as close as we expected, so we will have it ready for the next one [partido]”.
Antonio Brown he suffered a knee injury during the Divisional Round game against the New Orleans Saints and played just 27 plays. He didn’t train this week.
Arians had reported it as “day to day,” however Antonio Brown he could not progress fast enough in his recovery.
The former All-Pro led the Buccaneers in yards received in the last five weeks of the regular season and had a 36-yard touchdown reception in his Wildcard Round win over Washington. Antonio Brown he also has experience playing in two Conference Finals and a Super Bowl, something very few players have in the squad other than Tom Brady.
Arians said he believes Scotty Miller and rookie Tyler Johnson will be able to take a step forward. Johnson made a key reception in the third inning for a 15-yard gain against the Saints. Miller had a 29-yard reception against New Orleans, however, has played in some of Brady’s best deep-pass plays this season, a 33-yard touchdown against the Las Vegas Raiders and a 48-yard touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings.
“I think, if we look at last week, when Scotty and Tyler made those big plays in the final quarter, how much confidence the coaches and Tom have in these guys because they’ve earned it,” Arians ruled. “We’ll miss Antonio, but we have people capable of playing.”
Arians said that there is a possibility that the defensive tackle Vita Vea play after training again this week for the first time since the ankle fractured in Week 5.
“He looked pretty good. He’s been running for almost three weeks and he had a very good practice yesterday and a very good one today,” Arians said. “We haven’t made that determination yet, but we’ll see if we want to activate or not. There’s a possibility.”
