ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings said anyone 40 or older will be able to choose the coronavirus vaccine at the Orange County Convention Center starting Monday.
Demings said he has held talks with state officials about the measure to reduce vaccine eligibility. This decision does not follow the current eligibility list in Florida, but Demings said he does not believe Gov. Ron DeSantis is preventing Orange County from taking that step.

The mayor expects the herd’s immunity number to reach 80% of the population.
“We’ve done a pretty good job with our seniors and now we have to move on to middle young adults,” Demings said.
