AOC wears the “Tax the Rich” costume at Met Gala

Well, he’s not that rich.

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who is the face of America’s democratic socialists, presented herself at the brilliant Met Gala with a political message seemingly addressed to her party colleagues.

Ocasio-Cortez wore a white Brother Vellies gown with “Tax the Rich” in red letters sprinkled on his back and accessorized with a slogan in his bag on the American-themed ball.

The 31-year-old representative, who is the beloved of the far left, could have found a more receptive audience to her sartorial assertion at a workers ’rally. The Met Gala is an exclusive event, which is a parade of millionaire pop stars, wealthy actors, trust fund society swans and members of the gliteratti.

But his stylistic collaborator Aurora James, of Brother Vellies, said it was the perfect place for this sartorial statement.

“We can never feel too comfortable in our seats at the table once it’s been given to them,” he told Vogue James, founder and creative director of Brother Vellies.

“We must always continue to push ourselves, push our colleagues, promote culture and move the country forward. Fashion changes, the United States changes. And in this regard, I believe that Alexandria and I are a great embodiment of the language that fashion must consider adding to the general lexicon as we work towards a more sustainable, inclusive and more powerful future ”.
