Apex Legends Nintendo Switch reveals file size

After months of teasing, Respawn Entertainment finally revealed this past week that Apex Legends will land on Nintendo Switch in early March. The announcement finally gave relief to many who had been waiting for a specific release date, but as we get closer to that point, others have begun to wonder how much space they will have to make on their Switch to install -lo. Well, luckily, it looks like we now have our answer.

The official page of the game for Apex Legends Nintendo’s website has recently been updated to reveal that the actual battle shooter will need a huge amount of 30GB of space on the console. While not normally too large on other consoles like the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, it takes up almost all of the Switch’s internal memory. While this file size seems quite specific, there may also be an error.

On the Nintendo Switch website in the UK, it was noticed at one point during the last few days that Apex Legends it only had a file size of about 15 GB. This is obviously much better compared to what the US site currently shows, but it looks like this 15GB size might be wrong. The page was later removed and the file size with it has disappeared. As such, it seems that, after all, the actual size of the download is 30 GB.

All of this simply says that if you haven’t left room on your Nintendo Switch for a while, well, now may be a good time to do so if you want to grab Apex Legends next month. Conversely, if you haven’t upgraded your Switch with an external memory card, you can always purchase one. Micro SD cards are usually not too expensive and allow you to double the storage size of your Switch without breaking the bank.

As for when Apex Legends really premieres on Switch, the game will finally arrive next month on March 9th. With this date getting closer, we’ll be sure to keep you up to date on the Switch version of the game if there’s anything new.

So what do you think of this file size? You will be frustrated if Apex Legends does it end up taking up so much space? Be sure to let me know your thoughts below in the comments or on Twitter at @ MooreMan12.
