Apple fans are obsessed with this TikToker’s awesome iPhone hack: BGR

  • A newly discovered iPhone hack shows how users can quickly rearrange multiple apps on the home screen at once.
  • The sly trick is that people can set up their iPhone exactly the way they want.

As an avid iPhone user for over a decade, I usually don’t come across iPhone tips and tricks that I haven’t seen before. And certainly new tricks and workarounds inevitably burst to the surface every time Apple introduces a new iteration of iOS, but these discoveries are usually unearthed slowly but surely during the beta release period.

But every once in a while on a blue moon, a new trick out of nowhere will pop up and make me explode. And today, my friends, is one of those days. The most recent example comes to us through TikTok from all places. The trick in question provides an incredibly efficient way for users to move apps en masse to a completely different phone screen. The tip is a lifesaver for anyone who wants to rearrange the design of their iPhone or iPad.

Suppose, for example, that you want to move eight apps from the Home screen to the second apps page on your device. Typically, press an app and select the “Edit home screen” option from the context menu. Once the apps have started moving, you would manually drag each app, one at a time, from the Home screen to the second Apps page. Needless to say, this can be tedious, especially if you’re trying to move apps from the home screen to, say, the fifth page of your iPhone’s apps.

This iPhone trick, however, allows you to select multiple apps at once and move them to another page at once. This is how it works.

To get started, touch and hold an application icon until the context menu appears. From there, select the “Edit Home Screen” selection. Once the applications start moving, press down on the application you want to move to another page and move it slightly in any direction. You want to make sure you keep your finger pressed on the app at all times. From there, with your finger still on the screen, grab the other finger and simply tap any other app you want to move to another page. When you do this, you will see that all the applications you have recently used are taken to the location of the first icon of the application. It may seem like you are adding all the applications to a folder, but this is not the case.

Once you’ve selected all the apps you want to move, drag the collection of application icons to the right or left, depending on the page you want to move them to. When you do, all the selected applications will reappear on the new page.
