While Apple’s flagship iPhone and Apple Watch devices receive a veritable flotilla of new accessories, the humble ninth-generation iPad only gets a new Smart Cover color while the redesigned iPad mini connects two.
Quietly announced in an update to Apple’s website after the introduction of iPad and iPad mini, the range of new first-hand accessories for their latest tablets is quite limited.
Specifically, a new English Lavender smart cover (pastel purple) is now available for the ninth-generation iPad. The latest version of the iPad is compatible with existing six-color Smart Covers and Apple’s Smart Keyboard.
Similarly, an English Lavender Smart Folio for iPad mini has debuted alongside a new range of Dark Cherry colors. The rest of the Smart Folio colors for the sixth-generation iPad mini are taken from previous iterations of the accessory.
With the iPad and iPad mini now available for order, Apple’s first-hand accessories can be purchased today to be delivered later this month.
