Apple will launch iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 on September 20th

Apple says it will launch iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 on September 20th. The company announced new free operating system updates at WWDC 2021 in early June and offered public betting during the summer.

The two new versions of iOS and iPadOS offer a wide range of features. Headlines include changes to notifications, such as adding notification summaries, Focus modes to create different application lists, and notifications that allow you to reach users at different times of the day, FaceTime enhancements that include the ability to invite users from Android and Windows to first time calls, and a new look to Safari.

On the iPad, iPadOS 15 finally offers iOS 14 features like the app library and resizable widgets, and other products that Apple has planned for iOS 15. As part of the update, Apple is modifying again multitasking operation, with a new split-screen menu and a “shelf” for organizing applications that offer stand-alone windows, such as Safari.

Some features for both iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 will take a little longer to arrive. Apple says SharePlay, the ability to share live video and audio via FaceTime calls, is slated for later this fall.
