DETROIT – The weekend sun will last until our Monday morning, so grab the shadows when you walk out the door.
The clouds will increase this afternoon and by dinner time we should be completely cloudy. The highs should only reach the top 30 (3 to 4 degrees Celsius) and maybe touch 40 degrees in our western suburbs, as the east wind at 10 to 15 mph coming out of the cold lakes will keep the cooler temperatures in the east.
Today’s sunrise is at 7:45 a.m. and today’s sunset at 7:40 p.m.
Monday night there will be areas of soft snow, sleet and icy rains. Since the east wind will be channeled into drier air from Ontario, this dry air will keep the amounts of precipitation light.
However, even a little icy rain can cause icy pavement, so be especially careful if you go out Monday night later, especially on bridges and overpasses. Monday night temperatures will drop to about 30 degrees (-1 degrees Celsius) and then begin to rise towards dawn. East wind 10 to 15 mph.

Announcements
A large area of high pressure dominates the area this weekend, with an amount of sun, gentle wind and highs close to 50 degrees (10 degrees Celsius) on Saturday and mid-50 (13 degrees Celsius) on Sunday.
And what a coincidence: the spring equinox, the time when the sun passes directly over the equator on its way to the northern hemisphere, occurs at 5:57 a.m. Saturday morning. So the first day of spring this year will feel like spring.
