A 5-year-old girl who was in a Missouri traffic accident with Kansas City Chiefs assistant coach Britt Reid has been left fighting for her life in a hospital bed, photos show.
The young woman, whose relatives identified as Ariel, was seen stuck in medical tubes and well bandaged in images posted on the GoFundMe page after the accident.
“Ariel, who just turned 5, suffered a swelling in her brain and was bleeding in her brain, has not woken up since the accident,” the girl’s aunt, Tiffany Verhulst, wrote to GoFundMe. “He is still in a very critical state.”
Reid was driving a white Dodge Ram near the Chiefs’ training facility around 9 p.m., when he attacked a Chevrolet Traverse that was thrown next to a ramp. entrance to the highway, authorities reported.
Reid, who is the son of head coach Andy Reid, allegedly told police he had taken between two and three drinks and had taken Adderall prescription drugs.
Ariel’s mother had driven the Traverse to the I-435 ramp to help a cousin who had run out of gas, according to the GoFundMepage.
In addition to Ariel being injured in the crash, a 4-year-old boy also suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The GoFundMe page has raised more than $ 123,000 since it launched on Saturday.
