WASHINGTON, USA.-The governor of Arkansas Asa Hutchinson declare on Sunday that he would not support a candidacy for Donald Trump if the former president decides to run again in 2024, stating that “it’s time” to give space to other voices within the Republican Party.
“No, I wouldn’t,” Hutchinson replied when asked on the show. “State of the Union“From CNN if he would support Trump again.
“He will have his voice, as a former president, but there are many voices in the party,” the governor added.
Trump “doesn’t have to be the one to define our future, that’s something we have to define ourselves.”

Hutchinson, after the assault on the Capitol on Jan. 6, he had stated that the Trump administration should conclude. But Hutchinson did not join the voices calling for Trump’s resignation and argued that political judgment was not a practical option.
The interview with Hutchinson was aired just days after his nephew Jim Hendren, a state senator in Arkansas, announced he was leaving the Republican Party following the assault on the Capitol by Trump supporters.
On Sunday, Hutchinson praised the Trump family, especially Ivanka, and said she respects her nephew’s decision to pursue a political career as an independent. But Hutchinson said Republicans will have “a good future” if they are concerned with conservative principles and not “personalities.”
