Armie Hammer will “set aside” Jennifer Lopez’s film amid the DMs scandal

Armie Hammer will be moving away from his next film, “Shotgun Wedding,” Page Six has confirmed, amid a brewing scandal related to alleged leaked messages from the star about his sex life.

A source familiar with the project told us that Hammer is “moving away” from the action comedy film that should be produced this year.

A production spokesman confirmed to Page Six: “Given the imminent release date of ‘Shotgun Wedding’, Armie has asked to step away from the film and we support her in her decision.”

Hammer representatives made no comment.

Jennifer Lopez heads the film directed by “Pitch Perfect” director Jason Moore.

Previously, Ryan Reynolds had to play the role of Hammer and is an executive producer of the film, who follows a cold-footed couple whose wedding is taken hostage. The film is being distributed in the United States by Lionsgate and was sold last month to Amazon Prime.

The leaked messages allegedly from Hammer describe fantasies of rape and cannibalism, and the star has yet to make public comments about the DMs, which were leaked by an anonymous social media account under the name House of Effie. The story claimed that a Hammer message to a woman said she was “100 percent cannibal,” while another horrible message allegedly spoke of “cutting off her toes.”

Sources said some from Hammer camp have been trying to support the city star. But even hardened Hollywood members seem baffled by the alleged messages. Either way, the situation certainly seems off-brand for Lopez, who is still on horseback after his Hollywood hit, “Hustlers,” and the Super Bowl break program last year.

Hammer’s upcoming projects also include the thriller “The Billion Dollar Spy,” as well as a planned sequel to his 2017 hit “Call Me By Your Name”.

The “Social Network” actor has previously said in interviews that he was a “dominant lover” who liked to “grab women by the neck and hair”. But he said that marrying his now-estranged wife, Elizabeth Chambers, changed his sexual appetite. “It gets to a point where you say,‘ I respect you too much to do these things I want to do, ’” he said.

He later told E! News from the sincere Playboy interview: “Don’t drink during an interview.”
