Havana – The Cuban artist Tania Bruguera was released after being detained for six hours on Tuesday at a police station in Havana, an arrest that the activist also described as “kidnapping” and after which he called for an end to “political violence” in Cuba.
“What happened to me today was a kidnapping,” Bruguera said in a live broadcast on Facebook in which he also warned that he will continue “doing what he deems necessary to stop political abuse in Cuba, that violence policy in Cuba and that the right to rights be respected. “
The artist narrated that she was intercepted by state security agents when she was walking down the street to do some errands, forced to get into a vehicle with a private license plate and driven to a police station where she was interrogated: “they talked and they spoke out wanting to create division, fear and mistrust among the people we are working with today to make things change, ”he said.

Artists, activists and independent journalists have denounced in recent months an increase in repression that includes police surveillance, acts of repudiation, arbitrary detention and house arrest without having committed any crime.
The Cuban government, meanwhile, accuses these people of being “counterrevolutionaries” in the service of the United States and has launched an intense campaign of discredit against them in the state press.
