Former footballer Bruno Marioni, revealed that Juan Román Riquelme was about to play in the MX League, specifically said the Argentine had agreed to play for the Atlas.
In an interview for the MX South America YouTube channel, Bruno Marioni stated that he was about to become sporting director of the Atlas once he retired from the tracks, and that he had already agreed verbally with Juan Román Riquelme to be part of the red and black team.
But neither thing happened, because Marioni didn’t end up as a fox manager and Riquelme didn’t make it to the Atlas.
” This is the first time I’m going to explain it. I was about to be an Atlas manager when I retired, a year, I think, and I called Roman and he said, ‘yeah, it could be,’ and I said ‘wow, how crazy, hopefully’. Well, in the end I wasn’t a sports director and Riquelme didn’t come to Mexico, but of course I imagined him playing in Mexico and breaking it in Mexico ”, said who was also a player for Pumas and Pachuca.
Bruno Marioni retired in 2010 after joining the ranks of Estudiantes Tecos, and a year later he would have sought the arrival of Juan Román Riquelme, legend of Boca Juniors, for the Atlas.
