Avianca is conducting an internal investigation, after it became known that a passenger boarded one of its flights with a positive test of Covid-19, and also collaborates with authorities to contact other passengers who traveled on the same flight.
“Since the fact became known we are investigating what has happened in the process of reviewing the documentation in the pre-shipment in order to strengthen and improve the protocols to prevent a fact like this from happening again,” the company explained. in El Diari d’Avui, through its press unit.

The airline has indicated that “it is important to mention that the company has been attentive in delivering all the information required by the authorities for the respective epidemiological screening to the passengers who traveled on this flight.”
According to Migration and Aliens information, 74 people boarded the plane between passengers and crew.
Avianca also reiterated its call for passengers to comply with the requirements requested at each destination and with biosecurity protocols. “As well as delivering truthful information, as it is everyone’s responsibility to preserve the care of passengers and crew,” they stated in the company.
According to the health protocols established by the authorities before boarding a flight, passengers have the responsibility to deliver all the documentation required by the country of final destination, which in the case of El Salvador requests a negative test on Covid-19 before traveling; then the airlines are the filter at the time they board the passengers and already in the country of arrival the migration authorities are in charge of confirming the documentation of each passenger.
Salvadoran migration authorities reported this morning that a person with dual nationality: Mexican and American, boarded a flight from Avianca from Los Angeles, USA, having submitted a positive test of Covid-19, so that in his arrival at the airport was isolated.
