KANSAS CITY, Missouri, USA – Shohei Ohtani hit three hits and produced three runs, while Mike Trout fired a two-run homer for the Los Angeles Angels to crush the Kansas City Royals 10-3 on Monday.
Ohtani fired a two-run double over Scott Barlow in the seventh inning to put the board at 6-3. The ball bounced off the wood at 119 mph, the highest speed since 2015, according to Statcast.
The Japanese added a double producer to Jake Newberry in the ninth chapter.
Trout, who batted after Ohtani in order, connected on his fourth homer of the campaign, a two-run slash in the ninth inning.
Alex Cobb (1-0) handed out 10 strikeouts, his highest since July 29, 2014, when he conceded 12 for Tampa Bay against Milwaukee. Seven of his punches came with the splitter.
In his five-inning and two-thirds job, Cobb accepted three runs-four hits. He presented her with a ticket.
