The man had bothered her when her mother had come into the house looking for money. She has also charged him with charges of forgery and fraud, police said, citing the complaint.

The man had introduced himself as Golu, the son of Mohar Singh, who was later found to be called Tasleem Ali. She had three separate voter ID cards, she said in her complaint. Police have appealed to people not to react to social media posts about the attack.
