Bartholomew County reported three new deaths from COVID-19

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Health announced Wednesday that an additional 4,733 Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing in state and private labs. This brings the number of Indiana residents who are now known to have had the new coronavirus to 918,230 after corrections to the previous day’s board.

To date, it is confirmed that 14,550 Hoosiers died due to COVID-19, which includes 68 recently reported deaths that occurred between August 21 and September 14. the positive test is recorded.

A total of 4,070,643 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 4,060,372 on Tuesday. As of February 26, 2020, a total of 12,960,663 tests have been reported to the State Department of Health, including repeated tests for single people.

Bartholomew County reports 10,233 positive cases (up to 49) with 166 deaths (up to three).

  • Jackson: 6,389 positive cases (up to 31) with 80 deaths (no changes)
  • Jennings: 3,417 positive cases (up to 40) with 56 deaths (one more).
  • Decatur: 3,768 positive cases (up to 31) with 95 deaths (no changes)
  • Shelby: 6,386 positive cases (up to 42) with 106 deaths (no changes)
  • Johnson: 23,106 positive cases (up to 104) with 414 deaths (up to two)
  • Brown: 1,306 positive cases (two more) with 46 deaths (one more)

Hoosiers 12 years of age or older can receive a vaccine against COVID-19; people under the age of 18 can only opt for the Pfizer vaccine. To find a vaccination clinic near you, visit https://ourshot.in.gov or call 211 if you do not have access to a computer or need help. Appointments are preferred, but access to most sites is accepted.

A free COVID-19 testing and vaccination clinic will be from noon to 8 a.m. Friday and Saturday in the Bartholomew County Fairgrounds area. No appointment required. Rapid antigen testing and PCR are available. Attendees can choose the Pfizer vaccine (two doses) or the Johnson and Johnson vaccine (one dose). The Pfizer vaccine is the only vaccine available for children 12 to 17 years of age.

As of Wednesday, a total of 6,373,566 doses have been administered in Indiana. This includes 3,193,151 first doses and 3,180,415 fully vaccinated individuals. The fully vaccinated number represents people who have received a second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines and those who have received the unique Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
