When Andy Dalton made the decision to sign with the Chicago Bears, one of the reasons he made sure he would be the team’s starting quarterback in 2021.
It wasn’t a decision that went well with the fans, especially considering the Bears tried to switch to Russell Wilson before the Seattle Seahawks closed the door … for now. Which made the way from Dalton to Chicago.
But at the very least, we won’t have to endure another quarterback competition during training camp.
A few days after Dalton explained that he was introduced as a headline, the Bears made it official on Twitter with a photo of Dalton wearing a photoshop in a Bears uniform with the text “QB1”.

As you can imagine, Twitter had a lot to say about Chicago appointing Dalton as the starting quarterback in March. And while it was entertaining, it certainly wasn’t the reaction the Bears social media team had imagined.
I’m here to read the comments 💀

Look, I wouldn’t promote Andy Dalton to be my starting quarterback, but it’s not entirely absurd that he’s one. https://t.co/PrjkzlAg5w
