The Chicago Bears have intentionally tackled the quarterback position this low season with intent, but it hasn’t cost them anything. They’ve been in talks with teams that market or possibly market quarterbacks, but nothing has come to fruition.
The highlight was Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, whom Chicago aggressively chased. They would even have offered three first-round picks, a third-round pick and two players for Wilson. But the Seahawks informed them that they are not negotiating Wilson at this time.
Instead, the Bears had to settle for the signing of veteran quarterback Andy Dalton for a $ 10 million one-year deal, which weren’t exactly what local fans expected after Wilson’s rumors.
Now, with Dalton’s addition, it seems like a guarantee that Chicago will look to add a rookie quarterback to the game.
One of the quarterbacks that has caught their attention the most, along with countless other teams, is Alabama’s Mac Jones, which drew a crowd to college’s professional day. Attendees included Bears offensive coordinator Bill Lazor, game coordinator / quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo and area explorer Sam Summerville.

Unfortunately, there’s a good chance Jones won’t be on the board when Chicago’s first pick reaches No. 20. That’s why the Bears are reportedly doing their homework on the second day’s quarterbacks, as there’s a big amount of needs that could be addressed.
Again, don’t underestimate the conviction of GM Ryan Pace. When she sees her boy, she will do whatever it takes to land him. If that was Jones, we could end up seeing him in a Bears uniform.
