There has been much criticism of the Bears’ offensive plan in their 34-14 loss to the Rams on Sunday Night Football, where the Chicago field goal attack was non-existent.
The Bears hit the ball with running back David Montgomery and relied on short, quick passes from quarterback Andy Dalton. Dalton’s longest pass attempt was 16 yards, and he did not complete a pass of more than 10 yards. In fact, only 5 of his 38 attempts were ten yards or more.
There has been a lot of frustration on the part of the fans. But there was a quote from great receiver Marquise Goodwin, who signed with the Bears this offseason, about the Bears ’approach against Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey, which was quite revealing. In fact, it could be said that it was a direct shot against Nagy.
“He is a single player, All-Pro, Pro Bowler, instinctive, especially in small spaces. And if we didn’t run more than ten meters, that fell into my hands.
As you can imagine, Twitter had quite a reaction to Goodwin’s comments, many wondering if Nagy has already lost his wardrobe after week 1. Many are praising Goodwin for his honesty, which gave birth to the poor offensive scheme of Goodwin. Nagy.
I didn’t have a game to lose the locker room, but hey, it was so bad – if they lose on Sunday, they’re already fields in the third week and they don’t trust HC. https://t.co/znFlrzCesX

This feels like a direct shot at Matt Nagy.
And if Goodwin was willing to make that comment publicly, he probably wouldn’t be the only player in that locker room to feel that way. https://t.co/iyfjxn03em

It’s almost as if we’ve played straight to the defense’s strengths.
Plus, save me the nonsense “Andy Dalton can’t throw deep”. He has done so throughout his career.

This really makes us wonder, “What the hell are we doing here?” They have already deviated from the proposed “Muhammad Plan” by introducing JF1 sporadically.
Also, don’t be fooled, the players and the locker room know the problems and who is better. That could make her ugly and fast. https://t.co/0uwbp9uvxB

I think Nagy could end up being a toast. This is not right. When is the last time you remember a player calling a scheme directly … I think it rhymes with “messman” https://t.co/1Pnr7tKxKC

When your newly signed WRs already post a subtweet to your offensive scheme (and proxy QB), you already know that the locker room wants to see the fields.

The offense is already becoming Nagy and Dalton.
We all knew that would be how it would go down.
The routes of the Marquis Goodwin and Damiere Byrd 5 meters from the batting line for body throws should end with the person claiming to the penitentiary. https://t.co/PzJ8Ts8uiv
