He Kenny Golladay the news cycle continues to unfold. Shortly after the visit of the giants of the former Lions receiver appeared, ESPN.com’s Dianna Russini reports that the Bengals have made an offer to Golladay (Twitter link).
There are other teams in Golladay as well, according to Russini, but he plans to visit New York to meet with Giants Brass. The Bengals just saw AJ Green defect to the Cardinals, but the team is also pretty well positioned at the receiver.
It seems that the Bengals ’offer did not move the needle in Golladay. Cincinnati proposed what SI.com’s Albert Breer characterizes as a “one-year” type contract (Twitter link). Although Golladay may return to Bengal, he will continue his free agency process.
Cincinnati received a quality vision Tee Higginspotential last season, and Tyler Boyd is signed long term. Green played a $ 18 million franchise last season, opening a place where Golladay would work Joe Burrow. The Bengals have used some high-receiver recipes in recent years, from Higgins to Boyd John Ross. The latter, one of the top 10, agreed to deals with the Giants this week.
While the Bengals aren’t traditionally a team known for big low-season spending, last year they deviated from their usual course by signing a few free agents with big tickets. Golladay reaches a season in which hamstring and hip disease limited him to five games, but the 1,000-yard double receiver would certainly qualify as a splashed addition. With the Giants underway and the Dolphins tied to the four-year veteran before the market opens, this signing won’t be cheap.
