A Louisiana woman who went viral online to use Gorilla Glue on her hair after running out of hairspray traveled to Beverly Hills to seek help from a plastic surgeon Wednesday.
The doctor offered to help after watching a video of the plight of the Louisiana woman. Tessica Brown arrived in Los Angeles on Wednesday morning as she headed to the office of plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Obeng of Beverly Hills.
He offered to help after watching a video Brown posted on TikTok, confessing that when he ran out of his usual hair product, he used Gorilla Glue spray adhesive and that his hair hadn’t moved in a month. .
Brown has been documenting his agony online. He made a trip to the emergency room, but that didn’t help. Nor the assistance of a friend who cut his ponytail.
A GoFundMe page has raised over $ 18,000.
In an interview with TMZ, Brown said he still has unbearable pain.
“The headaches got worse, the tingling got worse. We couldn’t think of anything else, so I went to social media, ”he said.
Her videos motivated Dr. Obeng to offer help. He is originally from Ghana. He runs a charity that provides free medical services and has experience with burn victims.
The surveillance video shows Elisa Lam acting strangely inside an elevator at a downtown Los Angeles hotel shortly before the 21-year-old boy disappeared in 2013. Gordon Tokumatsu reports on the Cecil Hotel for NBC4 News at 5 pm on February 14, 2013.
“The goal is to be able to dissolve the glue and not burn his scalp,” Obeng said.
Gorilla Glue tweeted in a statement saying: “This is a unique situation because this product is not indicated for use or on the hair, as it is considered permanent. Our spray sticker appears on the warning label “Don’t swallow. Don’t put it in your eyes, skin or clothes.”
In the afternoon, Dr. Obeng said that after working with Brown for more than an hour, the procedure was successful.
“We had to use safe chemicals that did not cause burns to the scalp or untangle. The scalp is healthy and doing very well, ”he said.
