Biden, Harris will not address the “fundamental causes” of the increase in migrants because they are one

Border patrol officers captured some 168,000 people in March who crossed the southern border, with a maximum of 20 years. However, neither President Joe Biden nor Vice President Kamala Harris, whom he has tasked with addressing the “root causes” of the increase in migrants, have deigned to visit the border or, in fact, have done anything to do so. facing the crisis, including its “root causes.” Of course, they just don’t care.

Biden’s “border tsar” admitted last month that the administration was sending “mixed messages” to migrants. Was this honest frustration part of the reason he announced his resignation on Friday, not even three months after his tenure?

It seems that Central Americans do not believe that the messages are mixed: the number of meetings of illegal immigrants at the border increased by more than 71% from February to March because policies say “Come!” His first day in office, the prez ordered the end of all construction of walls at the border and a 100-day break in deportations.

And it has not looked back, despite the record number of migrants and, even worse, unaccompanied minors in federal custody. Its budget plan for 2022 envisages a 16% rise in domestic spending, but not a penny for border security.

Even the only move the Biden team has taken into account is to send money to Central Americans to keep them where they are. He offered no details, as now outgoing border tsar Roberta Jacobson simply said, “The only thing I can promise you is that the US government will not distribute money or checks to the people.” Still, most of the aid the United States has sent to the region has gone to corrupt governments; why does Biden think his money will somehow change the game?

Taxpayers already spend more than $ 60 million a week on the 16,500 unaccompanied minors detained. Biden and Harris called the facilities that housed them when Donald Trump was in the White House inhumane, but his administration has a record number of children detained. Their policies only encourage families to send their children on the perilous journey. The smugglers literally left a 3- and 5-year-old boy over the border, and yet the couple does nothing to discourage the practice.

But, of course, they cannot address the “root causes” of the increase without acknowledging the enormous role their own policies play. Expect things to get worse.
