Biden is failing at COVID by the standards he set as a candidate

President Biden argues that there is “nothing we can do to change the trajectory of the pandemic in the coming months,” which is exactly the opposite of what presidential candidate Joe Biden promised voters during the 2020 campaign. Candidate Biden’s plan said that “COVID-19’s trajectory in America is heading in the wrong direction,” and only he could fix it.

Biden’s “plan” was tantamount to a series of nebulous promises that would be implemented to correct Trump’s “failure,” such as accelerating the development of a vaccine, producing more masks, and pressuring rulers to sign mask mandates. Biden repeatedly promised to alter the trajectory of COVID-19. In a platinum speech on October 23, Biden pledged to “immediately launch a national strategy that will position our country to finally advance this virus and reclaim our lives.”

“Immediately” is an adverb meaning at the same time, instantly. It doesn’t mean waiting to get credit when Trump-era vaccines start.

Biden continually underestimated the speed with which medical technology would move. Whenever former President Donald Trump promised a vaccine would be available by the end of the year, “fact-checkers” were deployed to claim that this was a lie. On December 23, the United States led the world in vaccinations, with more than a million people vaccinated.

This is despite the fact that during the presidential campaign, Democrats like then-candidate Kamala Harris engaged in a cynical partisan effort to erode confidence in the government by saying that vaccine efficacy and safety would be compromised under the Trump team.

CNN now reports that the Biden team has not inherited “any plan to distribute the Trump administration’s coronavirus vaccine.” An anonymous source states that “there is nothing to work on again. . . . We will have to build everything from scratch ”.

Why does CNN allow anonymity in a piece that reaches the previous administration? Most likely because the statement is obviously false. Even the tsar of the coronavirus, Dr. Anthony Fauci, refuted the notion. In fact, the very existence of the vaccine also refutes the notion.

Again, if there was no vaccination plan – or, as is the case, we need a better one – why was the Biden administration not prepared on its own? The president had promised to “seek governors and mayors and other leaders from both parties, from all states, territories and tribes, and consult with educational, technological, business and labor leaders,” basically everyone but your sister. be “ready to start fighting the virus and fighting the virus as the new president.”

The phrase “touching the ground” means starting a new activity immediately and with a lot of excitement.

At a news conference Thursday, Biden claimed that the distribution of coronavirus vaccines by the Trump administration had been a “sad failure” and set the goal of vaccinating 100 million Americans by the end of ‘April, that is, about a million people a day.

But the day before Biden made his promise, there had already been 1.6 million doses administered in the United States, according to Bloomberg. It is hoped that Biden’s plan will not lessen inoculations and that his “plan” will be just a clumsy attempt to convince a compliant press to give him credit for existing successes.

When a reporter stepped back gently and observed how unambitious the administration’s goals were, Biden declined: “When I announced it, you all said it wasn’t possible. Come on, take a break, man. . ” They did? Who did it? The Trump administration’s “plan” showed that the United States had to administer at least 170 million doses by the end of April.

I’m skeptical that the Trump team could have done much more to stop the spread of the new coronavirus. Almost everything we’ve done has been reactive. Almost all economic and political systems have also struggled to contain the virus. Almost all states, blue and red. This, however, was not a perspective shared by Democrats, who blamed Trump and Republicans for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of citizens.

Biden has more power than Trump, and all the new prez has done is deviate.
