White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said Friday that President Biden has not held any solo press conferences during his first 45 days in office because he is busy with the “historic crises” related to the COVID pandemic -19.
Psaki defended himself from a journalist’s questions about why Biden has not held a forum of questions and answers in the first place, in a pause from his recent predecessors, by pointing out Biden’s occasional exchanges with one or two questions with journalists. .

And I would say that his approach, again, is to achieve recovery and relief for the American people and he hopes to continue collaborating with all of you and the members of the other members of the media who are not there today, and we look forward to communicating “As soon as the press conference is scheduled,” Psaki said in his daily press conference.
Reporters pointed to grilled Psaki on Friday about a rising migrant crisis on the Mexican border. Republicans say Biden caused the crisis by relaxing former President Donald Trump’s asylum and illegal immigration policies.
Other presidents took office during historic crises but held press conferences. Former President Barack Obama, for example, inherited a crisis from the financial system, but held his first press conference in less than three weeks on February 9, 2009.
“We look forward to holding a full press conference in the coming weeks before the end of the month and we are working on setting a final date for this and as soon as we do, we will let everyone know,” Psaki said.
“But this president came in during a historic crisis: two historic crises, a pandemic like the country he hadn’t seen in decades and decades, and an economic recession that left 10 million people out of work.”
Unlike Trump, who often asked so many questions that pool reporters were left unasked, Biden usually asks one or two questions during events on the west wing or during his outings in South Lawn.
Shortly after Psaki’s press conference, Biden did not ask the reporter the question of when he will file an infrastructure bill after speaking at the White House about a surprisingly strong monthly work report.
