President Biden on Thursday signed an executive order to back up the guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that recommends international travelers be quarantined for seven days after arriving in the United States.
Biden’s executive order says travelers must comply with CDC orders requiring a negative COVID-19 test to enter the country, as well as a quarantine period upon arrival in the states.
The CDC recently launched a new term which requires international travelers to take a negative coronavirus test at least three days before their flight. The mandate will take effect on Tuesday.
Biden also noted that he wants U.S. agencies to talk to Canada and Mexico about COVID-19 protocols at ports of entry in the country.

These agencies have two weeks to return to Biden with a plan of sanitary measures they recommend at ports of entry.
Biden also wants agencies to “act immediately” to demand that people wear masks at airports and on commercial planes, trains, public shipping, including ferries, intercity bus services and all public transportation. These agencies are allowed to make exceptions on a case-by-case basis.
Many of these measures have already been applied during the pandemic. Businesses and public transportation have needed masks and the CDC has published its guidelines for international travel ahead of the opening of Biden.
