Biden’s DOJ is trying to extend its order of trans rights beyond sports

The lack of an attorney general confirmed by President Joe Biden does not prevent his Justice Department from breaking the guidelines of the previous administration, nor does it push the boundaries of his executive orders.

A lawyer appointed to temporarily head the department’s civil rights division issued a note on Friday to undo the Trump Administration’s last-minute attempt to restrict the interpretation of the 2020 Supreme Court ruling that the laws Sex discrimination in the workplace also protects transgender people.

Attorney Greg Friel’s board noted Biden Inauguration Day’s executive order allowing transgender women to participate in women’s sports leagues as a basis for their decision to launch a Jan. 17 analysis, written by the deputy director general in functions, John Daukas, that the department should not let the Court’s decision enter Bostock v. Clayton County extends to other situations.

Biden’s executive order began a heated debate over identity and politics just hours after taking the oath on Wednesday.
