Biden’s first priorities united the country against him

President Joe Biden’s top priorities are uniting the country against him, an adviser to former President Donald Trump said Saturday.

“Does any normal person right now in this country believe that the top priority is to make sure we don’t deport illegal aliens who have committed violent crimes against U.S. citizens?” Stephen Miller, who was Trump’s adviser for four years, said during an appearance on Fox News’ “Watters World.”

Miller also referred to Biden’s executive orders canceling the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline and rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement.

“Whose are these priorities? These are the priorities of a narrow group of special interests of the extreme left, who have jobs, wealth and security and who look desperately at everyday citizens who just want to live a better, safer and healthier life, ”he said. Miller.

While Biden promised to unite the country, so far “he is united with Democrats, Republicans and independents against his open border agenda,” Miller added.

The White House did not respond to any requests for comment.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki told reporters after Biden signed a series of orders on the opening day that Biden “will rule for all Americans.”

“This, of course, must be supported by actions, as he conveyed,” he added. “But he will venture to do so in: in all the policies he pursues, in every commitment he has, because he feels that if we can come together, we will be a stronger country.”

Some groups of voters who supported Biden have announced opposition to some of the orders signed in their first days in office.

The International Union of North American Workers cheered when Biden won the election. But the union denied Biden’s cancellation of the Keystone pipeline, saying it would “kill thousands of well-paid union jobs.” The United Union of Plumbers and Pipefitters Association also announced opposition to the cancellation.

Biden’s moratorium on new oil leases and drilling permits also sparked criticism.

“During his inauguration, President Biden spoke of reuniting our nation. Eliminating drilling in public lands will cost the jobs of thousands of new Mexicans and destroy what is left of our state’s economy. Carlsbad Mayor Dale Janway told The Associated Press. “How does this bring us together? Environmental efforts should be fair and well researched, not mandatory obligations that end up harming an already impoverished state.
