Big E may have retained its intercontinental title on Apollo Crews this past Friday on SmackDown, but it looks like the meat between the two is far from over.
Arriving on Twitter, Big E revealed a screenshot of two Apollo Crews tweets, already deleted.
The first one says, “Damn, Big E Langston is short” with the second saying, “Lmao! Big E appeared on TV and my sister and mom said what is this?!?!”
The two tweets are from early 2013, shortly after the main call of the Big E list. At the time, the future New Day member was paired with Dolph Ziggler and AJ Lee, acting as a show-off muscle. The two would continue to challenge Team Hell No (Daniel Bryan and Kane) a WrestleMania 29 for the WWE Tag Team titles, but eventually fell short. The second of Apollo’s two deleted tweets arrived about a week later WrestleMania party.
Crews ’last stints at Big E came just a year before he signed to the WWE in 2014. Crews made his television debut in the first Acquisition of NXT event outside Full Sail University, NXT Takeover: Brooklyn. Although he has had limited success on the main roster, Crews was briefly individual champion last year, reigning as U.S. champion before losing the title to Bobby Lashley in late 2020.
Since then, Crews was retired on SmackDown, where he recently unsuccessfully challenged Big E for his half-letter title. While he fell short on his first attempt, if those tweets are anything to go by, it’s very possible that there’s a widespread dispute between Crews and E on the horizon.
