As part of her visit to Honduras, Her Majesty Queen Letizia and the President Juan Orlando Hernández they held a broad today dialogue which included topics on bilateral cooperation, investment, human development and the promotion of the sustainable national reconstruction plan, among others.
The Queen of Spain arrived in Honduras on an official visit to learn about the devastation left on national territory by tropical storms Eta and Iota.
Earlier today he delivered the donation of the Spanish cooperation of 120 tons in humanitarian aid for those affected, in addition to rapid tests for the diagnosis of COVID-19.

The Spanish government has also said present through the Team Europe initiative, which will allocate 2.85 million euros through non-reimbursable financial cooperation. This amount will add up to about 31.2 million euros of reimbursable financial cooperation, reoriented in conjunction with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) for this purpose.
During talks with Her Majesty Queen Letizia, the president also emphasized the vital importance of Spanish support and the entire international community for the promotion of the sustainable plan for national reconstruction.
The coffee sector, one of the most supported
The Honduran government highlighted the contribution of Spanish cooperation in innovation and development coffee sector, support that has had repercussions in the improvement of the competitiveness and sustainability of the national caficultura, the promotion and positioning of the aromatic to the outside, as well as the generation of new sources of work through the execution of projects that teach the use of coffee by-products.
Migrants
At the meeting, the governor also addressed the issue of migration and the importance of the Honduran community living in Spain, which according to estimates by the Chancellery, is around 30,000 connections, of which about 8,000 have already been nationalized as Spaniards.
Investments and human development
The project of Palmerola International Airport, the implementation and operation of the School of Senior Public Management of Honduras, the support of more than 60 water and sanitation projects valued at about 57 million euros, are some of the most important projects in Honduras that have been supported by Spanish cooperation.
In the field of human development, the acquisition of skills in topics such as masonry, carpentry, electricity, welding and gastronomy, among others, through the National Program of Schools Workshop that was run with the support of the Kingdom of ‘Spain has allowed the employment of many young people.
