Android vs. iPhone: The debate over whether Android is better or the iPhone has been long. Obviously, there is never any conclusion from this debate. Apple is a highly premium brand and several high profile celebrities use the iPhone. However, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates is not among them, as he also revealed earlier. But he recently divulged more details behind his preference for Android during an interaction at Clubhouse, an invitation-only audio chat platform, which is currently only available on iOS.
The tech mogul said that while he had an iPhone around because he liked to keep track of everything, he preferred Android phones because they were more flexible, adding that some also came with pre-installed Microsoft Office apps. , which made it easier for them to work for him. In what was apparently an investigation into Apple’s lack of customization, he said some manufacturers were also more flexible about how the software connected to the operating system.
Still, it’s unclear what the Microsoft co-founder meant in terms of connecting the software to the operating system, as iOS-compatible Microsoft Office apps have always been available for download in Apple’s App Store. In addition, the iOS 14 released by Apple allows for much greater customization than ever before, even allowing users to change the default browser and email client.
Google-owned Android is open source and is provided as an OS platform for various smartphone manufacturers, allowing these manufacturers to customize their phones ’applications according to their wishes. On the other hand, iOS is a proprietary software developed by Apple, intended exclusively for its hardware, that is, it has been developed according to the design that Apple provided for their own phones.
