Writing on Reddit during its ninth edition of Ask Me Anything, the billionaire presented a range of questions that gave him tips on how to better tackle climate change.
When asked what he was doing specifically to reduce his own footprint, Gates highlighted his energy innovation as he stressed the importance of innovation as “what will make it possible to provide services to everyone without emissions.”

“I buy green aviation fuel. I pay for direct air capture by Climeworks. I help fund electric heat pumps in low-cost homes to replace natural gas. I plan to fly much less now that the pandemic has shown that we can go out with fewer trips.
Prior to the publication, Gates was asked what the average person could do to reduce their own footprint.
The philanthropist stressed that the people who used his political voice were “the most important thing.”

“Getting education and convincing people from all political parties to care about them will make a big difference,” he continued.
“Then you can consume less and, when consuming, buy organic products such as electric cars or synthetic meat.
Gates also highlighted the visit to entrepreneurs to see how they are implementing greener efforts.
“Another area is making sure your company pays the compensation and does its part,” the billionaire said. “If you want to help, there are ways to get involved.”

“I don’t think the 80 poorest countries eat synthetic meat. I think all rich countries should switch to 100% synthetic meat,” Gates told the MIT Technology Review.
“You can get used to the difference in taste and the claim is that they will make you taste even better over time. Finally, this green premium is modest enough for you to change people or use regulation to completely change demand. Gates reflected.
The 65-year-old Microsoft founder was promoting his new book, How To Avoid A Climate Disaster, which features a series of dramatic proposals that Gates says are necessary to avert global disaster.
