Bill Gates says US entry into the worst phase of the COVID epidemic and locks will last until 2022

Bill Gates says he expects the corona virus-related locks to be pulled down by 2022 as restaurants close their doors for the next six months.

The billionaire Microsoft founder made his predictions during an interview with CNN’s Jack Topper on Sunday, setting new records for new cases, hospitalizations and deaths over a seven-day period.

Asked how he thinks the COVID-19 crisis will be in the next few months due to the widespread availability of vaccines, Gates said: ‘Well, unfortunately, the next four to six months could be the worst of the epidemics.

The forecast shows more than 200,000 additional deaths. If we follow the rules like wearing masks and not mixing, we can avoid a huge percentage of those deaths. So, this is bad news. ‘

He went on to indicate his support for tougher restrictions, affecting more than 75 percent of states, including California Governor Gavin Newsome’s recent asylum order.

‘Of course there’s no harm in wearing a mask,’ Gates said. ‘Most bars and restaurants in the country will be closed when we go into this wave and I think it’s sad that it’s appropriate.’

‘You don’t want someone you love to die last by the corona virus,’ he added.

Gates noted that determining whether to keep schools open is more ‘complex’ than other businesses because the benefits of individual learning are greater, while exchange rates between children are lower.

“Transactions need to be done, but the next four to six months invite us to do what we can because we can see this coming to an end,” he said.

Topper then explored: ‘When do you think life will return to what we thought was normal in January? No masks, no social exclusion, no other safety measures required. ‘

Gates responded: ‘Of course, in the summer we will be closer to normal than we are now – but even in early 2022, if we do not help other countries get rid of this disease, we will get higher vaccination rates in our country and the risk will reintroduce.

‘Of course, the world economy will slow down, which will affect the United States economically more dramatically.

‘So, starting in the summer, there will be about nine months, where some things like big public meetings will still be restricted.

‘But somewhere between 12 and 18 months, if we manage it well, we can now see that we have a chance to return to normal.’

At another point in the interview, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation recently announced a new $ 250 million pledge to fight the epidemic, more than the $ 1 billion it has already made.

Gates said the focus will be on developing a vaccine that can be used not only in the United States but around the world.

He also addressed widespread online conspiracy theories that his foundation was operating with NIH director Dr. Anthony Fucci, who injected microchips into people through the vaccine – saying he was “surprised” by such rumors.

‘You know, I don’t know how to behave,’ he said. ‘Dr. Fossie and I believe in vaccines. Vaccines have saved millions of lives. What is our foundation, our expertise in getting the scale of those things is valuable here.

‘Even if you don’t always understand well, you should be willing to speak in public.

“I’m worried that people will not want or believe the vaccine. You know of other reasons I consider polio eradication or valuable.”

Tapper then cited a new poll by the Pew Research Center, which found that only 60 percent of Americans want to be vaccinated: ‘How concerned are you about the reluctance of Americans to get vaccinated, especially among minority communities?’

“I think we have a real communication challenge, we need to find out who people trust and make sure they have the data,” Gates replied.

‘I believe when people see it – this vaccine has evolved and reduces the mortality rate, reduces the spread to those you care about, and that 60 per cent rise.

“Track record will be created and we think we will get more than 70 per cent, which will dramatically reduce traffic.”

Gates said he would like to join President-elect Joe Biden and many other US leaders, including former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton – in publicly trying to convince others that the vaccine is safe.

“When it comes to my turn, I will take the vaccine for granted because I think it would be a benefit not to spread it to all people,” he said.

Gates said he had spoken with Biden about the incoming administration’s plans to combat the epidemic and that he was inspired by what he saw.

“I am delighted that the people and President-elect Biden and his team have made it a priority to tackle this issue,” he said.

Biden is doing his best to retain Francis Collins and Tony Fossie and add them to that strong squad. Those who are willing to admit when things are not going right and deliver the best news, especially for the next four to six months.

“I don’t think the United States will be one of the worst performers since the team came to power.”

Bates’ predecessor Donald Trump Gates took a few shots – saying his plan to prioritize vaccinations for Americans was’ selfish ‘and that the Trump administration did not play a significant role in getting the vaccines out quickly.

But he said Trump’s response to the virus could have been ‘worse’.

‘[Trump] Dr. Fossie may have been removed. He could have kept Scott Atlas for a long time. You know we will do it when the postmortem is done.

‘We should all take note of what we have learned from this epidemic, because another epidemic is coming, and that administration is smart in getting the test done quickly, so the CDC who are the experts will be there. We prepare people without fear of public, bad news.

‘It’s clear that next time we’ve going to be smart.’

Tapper concluded the interview: ‘How do you think history will determine America’s response to the epidemic?’

‘Well, America would have been expected to be better,’ Gates said. ‘Unfortunately, before the epidemic, in the first two or three months of the epidemic, we did not get over it like many countries.

“Finding out where we need to change things, these autopsies will guide us next year, but it’s a tragedy, we could not respond as well as we could.”
