HBO’s Bill MaherWilliam (Bill) Maher, 11/11, sparked a rise in Islamophobia: For years, the media fueled the flames that Psaki advocates for deciding to remove Trump-appointed members from the boards of the military academy. Friday pointed to the NFL’s decision to play “Lift Every Voice And Sing,” long considered the black national anthem, before this season’s games, he called it “segregation” but “with a different name.”
The host of “Real Time with Bill Maher” commented on the inaugural NFL game in 2021 between the Dallas Cowboys and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who performed a rendition of the Alicia Keys song before “The Star-Spangled Banner” appeared.
Maher said on his Friday program:Now, maybe we should get rid of our national anthem, but I think we should have a national anthem.
He continued, “I think when you go down a road where you have two national anthems, sometimes schools now have … many of them have different graduation ceremonies for separate bedrooms in black and white … that’s what I mean: segregation.
“It simply came to our notice then. We will return to this with a different name “, he added, provoking the applause of his audience.

Maher included his comments in a broader discussion of race, arguing that college campuses and classrooms are becoming a “factory of social justice.”
“When people sometimes say to me like,‘ Boy, are you really going left behind these days. Because?’ Because you’re embarrassing me, “Maher explained.” That’s why I go left in a way you’ve never done before. ”
“I will not stop being liberal,” he continued. “You’re taking kids and making them hyper-conscious of the race in a way that they otherwise wouldn’t be.”
The NFL’s decision to include the black national anthem comes after it was featured in some games during the previous season, including the Super Bowl LV, when players from the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers put together weapons while Keys performed the song.
In Thursday’s game, Keys joined members of the historically black Florida University A&M Concert Choir, as both teams were in the final two areas of the field.

The NFL has said the song will appear this season before certain “tent games,” including the NFL draft and playoff clashes, as part of the league’s 10-year promise to fight racism. .
The NFL will also promote its social justice campaign by displaying signs, player helmet decals and PSA.
