Bindi Irwin and her husband, Chandler Powell, have welcomed their first child together, the wildlife expert announced on Friday. Irwin revealed his daughter’s name, saying the second name honors her later father, Steve Irwin.
“March 25, 2021. Celebrating the two loves of my life. Happy first wedding anniversary to my loving husband and our beautiful daughter’s birthday,” the 22-year-old wrote on Instagram, sharing a shot with her husband and newborn.
“The Warrior of Grace Irwin Powell,” he continued. “Our elegant warrior is the most beautiful light.” Irwin explained that Grace was the name of her great-grandmother, as well as the name of her husband’s relatives, which dates back to the 1700s. “Her middle names, Warrior Irwin, are a tribute to my father and his legacy as the most amazing wildlife warrior, ”Irwin posted.
Steve Irwin, an Australian television personality and conservationist known as the “Crocodile Hunter”, was killed in 2006 by a mouse while filming the Great Barrier Reef. He was 44 years old.
His wife, Terri, and their children, Bindi and Robert, he continued his legacy directing the Australian Zoo.
Bindi Irwin and his family also help run the zoo’s non-profit organization, Wildlife Warriors, which was started by the late Irwin in 2002. announced she was pregnant last August, Irwin called her baby “Wildlife Warrior.”
Recently, it also announced a new “Baby Wildlife Warrior” clothing line before the due date, the collection of which will help support Wildlife Warriors Worldwide’s conservation efforts.
In a post on his own Instagram account, Irwin’s husband wrote a message to his newborn daughter. “You have a great life ahead of you and no matter what happens, you will be surrounded by a lot of love,” he wrote. “Thank you for thanking your beautiful mother and me on our wedding anniversary, so excited to have you home.”
