Blake Griffin comes to an agreement with Nets for the rest of the season

Free agent striker Blake Griffin reached an agreement with the Brooklyn Nets for the rest of the season, his basketball agent Sam Goldfeder told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Griffin, 31, agreed to buy out his contract with the Detroit Pistons on Friday and was in waivers over the weekend.

Although several teams were interested in Griffin, the six-time selected in the All-Star Game decided to join some Nets who have their sights set on the championship.

Griffin gives the Mets more size at the top of the tail behind DeAndre Jordan, while the team imagines him as a small ball center from the bench.

Injuries have dramatically altered Griffin’s performance, eliminating the high-jump attacks that marked his career. Now, he relies on triples and his ability to assist other players.

Griffin averaged 12.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 20 games for Detroit this season.
