The young Puerto Rican Alanis Sophia failed to enter the Top 12 of American Idol, being eliminated from the singing competition.
Then yesterday to position itself among the 16 favorites, tonight Alanis did not get the votes needed to continue on the reality show. Of the 12 contestants chosen, 10 were chosen by the public vote and the jury saved two more.
Before knowing the result, the young woman, born in San Juan and a resident of the state of Florida, performed the song “Heart Attack” by Demi Lovato, receiving mixed reactions from the jury panel, which today was composed by Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Paula Abdul.
Abdul, who was a judge on the popular program from 2002 to 2009, appeared tonight to replace Luke Bryan, who tested positive for Covid.
