Boris Johnson tells Angela Merkel to shut up at the G7 virtual meeting

It is reassuring to know that even the most important meetings in the world are also being destroyed by technical issues at the moment. On Friday morning, leaders from the world’s most powerful countries gathered to hold a virtual G7 summit to work out a global strategy to address crucial issues such as the coronavirus, the climate crisis and the global economy. But after British Prime Minister Boris Johnson opened the call by greeting his fellow world leaders and expressing his regret that they could not meet in person, he was suddenly interrupted by a German voice. “Can you hear us Angela?” Johnson said, leaving German Chancellor Angela Merkel as a disruptor. Johnson then told him, “I think we need to shut up.”
