Brandon Moreno vs. Deiveson Figueiredo trilogy reserved for UFC 269 in December

The flyweight title will be contested at UFC 269, as Brandon Moreno will face former champion Deiveson Figueiredo for the third time in a row when they meet on December 11th.

Several sources confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Wednesday, both fighters accepted the match. ESPN initially reported the contest.

Moreno will seek the first defense of his flyweight title in December after presenting a dominant showcase in his last meeting with Figueiredo in June. That night, the first Ultimate Fighter The competitor finished Figueiredo with a naked strangulation in the middle of the third round.

That victory came six months after Moreno and Figueiredo fought for a majority tie after a five-round battle in UFC 255.

It has been speculated that perhaps Figueiredo would test the waters in bantamweight after fighting for a tough weight reduction in his last 125-pound fight against Moreno, but it looks like he hasn’t finished the flyweight yet.

Before tying against Moreno for the first time, the Brazilian had scored five straight victories, including a couple of wins over Joseph Benavidez, in addition to having eliminated Alex Perez in his first defensive title as champion.

Now, Moreno and Figueiredo will be running it again, as they try to solve the score once and for all in the trilogy scheduled for UFC 269 in December.

While the entire card continues to come together, a light title fight between champion Charles Oliveira and challenger Dustin Poirier is the main goal of the event.
