Although The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild came out almost four years ago, people keep pushing forward amazing gestures in the game. Specific case: this player stabs a Guardian with an arrow more than 1,400 meters away.

Neko is one Breath of the Wild Japan player with an extensive resume of impressive achievements, many of which are listed in his YouTube i Twitter pages. But the video they posted yesterday definitely takes the cake.

After jumping from the balcony of the Temple of Time near the start of the game, Neko shoots an ancient arrow into the seemingly random sky. It’s just following this arrow through a great distance (and more than one loading area) with one “Bullet Time Bounce” that Neko is able to show the fate of the projectile: an unsuspecting guardian, who is soon reduced to a pile of smoke and debris.

Neko says The Guardian is more than 1,400 feet from its starting position, but it’s not a number to guess. By combining the Bird Man Research Study mini-game (which measures how far you can travel with Link’s paraglider) with a couple of bugs, Neko is able to get a fairly accurate distance for his sniper shot. Everything is explained in the video (be sure to turn on English subtitles if you can’t read Japanese).

Breath of the Wild it’s one of the best open world games of all time, and it’s a testament to how well Nintendo developers combined intricate mechanics with a rich physical environment that gamers continue to challenge in this way.
