The New York Yankees finally called the to-do list their main task for this offseason, signing midfielder DJ LeMahieu on a six-year, $ 90 million contract. The deal will keep the current 2020 batting champion in the Bronx until 2026, his 32-37 seasons.
Here are some thoughts on signing and what could be next for the Yankees:

LeMahieu is overrated and underestimated. Much of the discussion during the offseason has been like the Yankees they had to sign LeMahieu, as if he were one of the best Yankees of all time. I never believed in this because the Yankees had options at stake, as they could have moved Gleyber Torres to second base and signed one of the torpedo boats in the free agent market (Marcus Semien, Andrelton Simmons, Didi Gregorius). Even if that had been a one-year solution, with all of them others torpedo boats that will arrive in free agency next season (Francisco Lindor, Trevor Story, Carlos Correa, Corey Seager, Javier Báez) means there are other ways they could have found the long-term solution.
