Britney Spears’ Instagram account has disappeared in the days following her engagement to Sam Asghari, but the star promises she won’t be leaving for long.
“Don’t worry, people … taking a little break on social media to celebrate my engagement !!!!” the 39-year-old singer tweeted on Tuesday. “I will be back soon.”
Spears’ lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, also told Fox News in a statement that “it was his decision” to step away from the social media platform.
Meanwhile, a source told Page Six that she is “happy and in a great place.” The informant added: “and silence can be a powerful thing and a powerful message.”

Spears ’decision to delete his Instagram account followed a recent pop star post that focused on being controlled by others.

Last Monday, the “Toxic” singer took to Instagram to share an article titled “Infusion Education with Heart” with which Spears says she links. It is an article he had already shared on his social platform and which deals with the importance of teaching children thinking about the heart.
The pop star, who has been fighting for 13 years to be released from a conservatory she has been subjected to, discussed what it’s like to “be controlled by someone else.” His words on social media echo the sentiments he has shared in court in recent months when he accused his father, Jamie Spears, of “conservative abuse.”

Last week, Jamie filed a petition to end the pop star conservatory, a move that surprised her fans when she arrived months after her father shared her opposition to her lawyer’s requests to leave the Conservative post. Jamie has controlled Spears’ finances since 2009 after the singer suffered a series of involuntary retentions. Spears has been locked in a legal battle with Jamie for the past few years as she has worked to regain control of her life.
