George Paton was introduced as Broncos the CEO today, and the executive gave a thoughtful response when he explained how it would help restore a winning culture in Denver.

“No shortcuts” Paton said (via the team’s website). “It simply came to our notice then [process], we will accept the grinding, and we will do it together. … We will be progressive, we will be innovative, we will be forward and we will use all the information at our disposal to make the most informed decisions “.

Paton also noted the importance of influencing the draft and being innovative in its assessment of possible acquisitions.

“Writing and developing players will be our basis,” Paton said. “It will be the lifeblood of this football team.”

Paton joined the Broncos in a six-year deal. Under the restructured main office, Paton and head coach Vic Fangio will report to John Elway, which will have less to do with the day-to-day decisions of the team.
