LOS ANGELES – Walker Buehler only allowed two runs until the eighth inning and the Los Angeles Dodgers got their eighth straight win by beating the New York Mets 3-2 on Friday.
Buehler (13-2) struck out at eight and allowed an undisputed 6 p.m. in seven two-thirds innings. Los Angeles has a 5-0 record against the Mets in the past eight days, including a three-game sweep last week in New York.
Trea Turner finished with two hits and two runs in what was his fourth duel with more than one hit in his last five games as a starter.
Pete Alonso connected on his 27th inning and produced a run with a single in the box in the eighth, but the Mets lost for the seventh time in their last eight engagements.
This bad streak of the Mets takes place at the beginning of a round of 13 matches against the San Francisco Giants and the Dodgers, the teams with the two best marks in the campaign.
Venezuelan Mets opener Carlos Carrasco (0-2) conceded three unstoppable runs-five in five episodes, during which he awarded a ball base and handed out seven strikeouts.
Carrasco greatly improved his performance compared to his opening streak against the Dodgers on Sunday, in which he allowed 6 touchdowns and three homers in just two innings.
The Dodgers have also won 12 of their last 13 games in their attempt to keep up with the Giants, who are in the top spot in the Western Division of the National League.
For the Mets, the Dominican Jonathan Villar 4-0. The Venezuelan Carlos Carrasco 2-0.
